Job Description
The Nurse Practitioner at Pineville Junior High provides primary care within the scope allowed by the Louisiana Nurse Practice Act, under supervision.
Responsibilities include performing assessments, diagnoses, treatments, health education, and referrals, while maintaining accurate patient records and participating in policy development and review. They collaborate with healthcare team members, practice independently or jointly, and utilize protocols for medical care. The role involves managing acute and chronic conditions, prescribing medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, and promoting health and disease prevention. Additional duties include patient education, teaching healthcare professionals, participating in research, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The candidate must hold current licensure, a valid DEA license, and BLS certification, with bilingual skills preferred. The work schedule is full-time, five days a week, eight hours daily.
