Job Description
The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) reports to the Director of Nursing and supervises nurses and medical assistants.
They provide specialized wound care in home, nursing home, and assisted living settings, performing assessments, developing care plans, and collaborating with healthcare teams to promote healing.
Qualifications include a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing, current licensure as an NP, wound care certification within 6 months, and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
This field-based role requires physical activity, travel within the region, and adherence to safety protocols. The NP must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Essential duties involve wound assessment, treatment, supervision of staff, documentation, patient education, and coordination of care. Strong assessment, communication, and adaptability skills are essential.
