Job Description

This full-time role involves practicing medicine under physician supervision, including conducting exams and writing prescriptions. The APP exercises autonomy within the physician–APP relationship, providing diagnostic and therapeutic services across primary care, surgery, and subspecialties. Responsibilities include virtual inpatient care, managing admissions, treatment, coordination, and discharge planning, along with potential involvement in education, research, and administration.

  • Requires knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, pharmacology, and clinical assessment techniques.
  • Skills include evaluating patient data, developing care plans, and communicating effectively with patients and staff.
  • Must understand complex medical info, make responsible decisions, collaborate with physicians, and use medical equipment and computer tools.
  • Minimum 1-2 years inpatient or hospitalist experience preferred; new graduates with strong rotations considered.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and completion of an accredited PA or APRN program. Licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
  • Location in Harlan, KY, with relocation required before starting.
