PRN Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic (CVT) Nurse Practitioner

Job Description

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will deliver specialized inpatient care for cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients, mainly in the CVICU and CV Stepdown units.

Provide comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage post-op recovery.

Order and interpret diagnostics, prescribe medications, and perform bedside procedures within scope.

Participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Ensure adherence to protocols and document care accurately in the EHR.

*Schedule:* PRN, 12-hour shifts (daytime, mid-week, weekends), with no on-call duties.

*Qualifications:* Master’s in Nursing (within 24 months if pending), minimum one year of CV surgery or advanced practice experience, current RN license, NP certification preferred, BLS and ACLS required.

*Skills:* Strong clinical judgment, communication, and familiarity with CVT protocols.

The role is in-person with no overnight on-call responsibilities.
