Job Description
This contract-based Speech-Language Pathologist position requires a Master’s degree from an accredited institution and current certification from ASHA and the Michigan licensing authority, or a valid Michigan teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsement for TSLI. Experience in urban public schools is a plus.
Evaluate students for special education eligibility using various assessment methods. Interpret evaluation results to parents and staff. Develop, implement, and modify IEPs and SMART goals aligned with academic standards. Create a supportive learning environment tailored to student needs. Counsel students, parents, and teachers about communication disorders. Collaborate with school staff and external agencies on intervention strategies and participate in RTI and MTSS teams. Maintain positive relationships, participate in training, and deliver workshops. Ensure compliance with special education regulations. Follow MET/IEP procedures and attend staff meetings. Maintain accurate records, including progress reports and billing documentation. Perform additional duties as assigned.
This role is ideal for retired speech pathologists, with small caseloads, and offers flexible hours during the school day, paying $50-$60 per hour.
