Job Description
This full-time position involves practicing medicine under physician supervision, including conducting exams and prescribing medications.
Within the physician–APP partnership, the APP exercises autonomy in medical decision-making and provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services across primary care areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, and surgical subspecialties.
The role includes responsibilities for education, research, and administrative tasks. As a Hospitalist APP, duties focus on virtual inpatient care—admitting patients, managing their care, coordinating services, and planning discharges—collaborating closely with hospitalist physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
Knowledge required includes medical terminology, assessment techniques, diagnosis, treatment planning, and documentation.
Skills include data analysis, patient evaluation, and care plan development.
Abilities encompass understanding complex medical info, independent decision-making, effective collaboration, patient education, and technical proficiency.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, completion of an accredited PA or APRN program, and 1–2 years of inpatient or hospitalist experience preferred.
