Job Description

This position offers a _$1000 signing bonus_, paid with the first paycheck, contingent on remaining employed for a full year.

*Job Purpose:*
Provide alcohol and drug education and counseling in individual and group settings, including screening, intake, assessment, referral, and intervention under clinical supervision.

*Key Responsibilities:*
– Conduct education, counseling, and intake services within a substance abuse program.
– Maintain client files per confidentiality laws and agency policies.
– Offer structured activities for clients and families, modeling healthy lifestyles and recovery skills.
– Coordinate with staff and external providers, manage emergencies, and ensure safety compliance.
– Complete required documentation, training, and participate in agency activities.

*Qualifications & Skills:*
– High school diploma or GED; current counselor intern registration; preferred Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years’ experience in substance abuse.
– Strong communication, case management, and group facilitation skills; knowledge of community resources.
– Bilingual skills preferred; reliable transportation required.

*Additional Info:*
Pay ranges from $45,000 to $51,500 annually, with benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off. The employer is an equal opportunity organization.
