The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be integral to a new Safe Options Support (SOS) team dedicated to providing comprehensive care to street homeless or subway-dwelling individuals in the community.
The multidisciplinary team includes a leader, clinicians, care managers, and peer specialists, utilizing the evidence-based Critical Time Intervention model.
The role involves street outreach, coordinating needs before and after housing, improving daily living skills, offering supportive counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare inequities. Emphasis on member choice, harm reduction, non-coercion, flexibility, and person-centered care is essential.
Follow-up support continues months post-housing to promote stability and wellbeing. The position requires fieldwork, on-call availability, and flexible hours.

Requirements include a licensed master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology, with MSW candidates working towards licensure. Travel across Chenango, Broome, and Otsego counties may be necessary.
Position details: Full-time, hourly pay of $32-$34, with benefits including health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more. Must relocate to Norwich, NY before starting work.
