Job Description

The Speech Language Pathologist provides comprehensive speech, language, swallowing, and hearing screenings and treatments for all age groups within the Special Education services program.

  • Demonstrates expertise in language development, assessment, and intervention strategies.
  • Assesses children’s needs, recommends classroom and home adaptations, and models developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Completes billing and Medicaid forms promptly and collaborates with staff to develop and implement IEPs.
  • Prepares and delivers individual and group therapy sessions aligned with children’s goals and classroom opportunities.
  • Provides services in various settings, including community sites and homes, ensuring inclusive programming and maximum independence for children.
  • Maintains accurate documentation, communicates positively with children, and supports transitions to new learning environments.
  • Administers evaluations, offers screenings, and trains staff and families on communication tools.
  • Participates in parent conferences, staff meetings, community events, and committees, including supervision of CFY candidates.
  • Performs additional tasks as needed within a team-oriented environment.
