Job Description

The Substance Abuse Counselor (LCAS, LCAS-A, CCS) provides confidential addiction counseling, education, and support to individuals, families, and the community to promote healthy lifestyles and choices.

  • Responsibilities include conducting assessments, identifying treatment needs, offering counseling and educational programs, and assisting with treatment planning and goal achievement.
  • Provides support in locating funding, obtaining employment, and rebuilding relationships, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with confidentiality laws.
  • Collaborates with community resources and other departments to enhance service delivery and participates in quality improvement efforts.
  • Requires knowledge of ASAM criteria, and licenses such as LCAS-A, LCAS, or CADC are mandatory.
