Job Description
The Substance Abuse Counselor (LCAS, LCAS-A, CCS) provides confidential addiction counseling, education, and support to individuals, families, and the community to promote healthy lifestyles and choices.
Responsibilities include conducting assessments, identifying treatment needs, offering counseling and educational programs, and assisting with treatment planning and goal achievement. Provides support in locating funding, obtaining employment, and rebuilding relationships, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with confidentiality laws. Collaborates with community resources and other departments to enhance service delivery and participates in quality improvement efforts. Requires knowledge of ASAM criteria, and licenses such as LCAS-A, LCAS, or CADC are mandatory.
