Psychiatrist – Corrections

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated part-time Psychiatrist to join our correctional healthcare team, working 4 hours weekly on-site at two facilities in Bay Minette, AL, with mandatory phone consultations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans
• Lead follow-up care, discharge planning, and ensure continuity of care
• Provide phone consultations and mental health support
• Collaborate on care coordination, staff education, and quality improvement
• Mentor staff, assist with emergency planning, and maintain compliance
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals and train system users

Requirements:

• Valid Alabama medical license in Psychiatry (M.D. or D.O.)
• Board certification or eligibility, with 3-5 years of experience
• Current DEA registration
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Proficiency with relevant technologies

Pay ranges from $150.00 to $200.00 per hour, with benefits including an employee assistance program and professional development support.
