Job Description
The Substance Abuse Counselor (LCAS, LCAS-A, CCS) provides confidential addiction counseling, education, and support to individuals, families, and the community to promote healthy lifestyles and choices.
Responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments, identifying appropriate treatment options, assisting with funding, and offering individual, family, and group counseling on addiction issues. The counselor also educates high-risk populations and collaborates with community resources to enhance services.
Key duties involve developing treatment plans, maintaining accurate records, ensuring confidentiality, and working within legal and organizational guidelines. The role requires knowledge of ASAM criteria and completion of necessary certifications.
