Job Description

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) provides expert family-centered care for infants and toddlers up to age 2, covering primary, acute, chronic, and critical care needs.

  • Collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and management of neonatal illnesses, including ordering and interpreting labs and imaging.
  • Advocates for patients and families, promoting education, health promotion, and self-management, while integrating culturally diverse and developmental considerations.
  • Leads care management, communicates effectively with team members, and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Participates in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and uses evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Utilizes informatics for communication and decision-making, and demonstrates leadership through mentorship, committee involvement, and professional development.
  • Requires a BSN, MSN/NNP degree, RN and APRN licensure, board certification, and experience in neonatal care, with certifications in BLS, NRP, and PALS preferred.
