Job Description
The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team providing comprehensive care to homeless individuals in the community, including street and subway dwellers.
The multi-disciplinary team, comprising a leader, clinicians, care managers, and peer specialists, will deliver evidence-based Critical Time Intervention to support participants from street to stable housing.
Responsibilities include community outreach, coordinating needs before and after housing placement, enhancing daily living skills, offering supportive counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare disparities.
The role emphasizes person-centered, harm reduction, and non-coercive approaches, with ongoing support post-housing to promote stability and independence.
This field-based position involves flexible hours, periodic on-call duties, and travel across Chenango, Broome, and Otsego counties.
Minimum requirements: Licensed master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology; MSW with plans for licensure considered.
Compensation ranges from $32.00-$34.00/hour, with benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more.
