Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Nurse in Charge for Ophthalmology to lead insourced nursing services across outpatient clinics, wards, diagnostics, and theatres in North Wales, South Wales, and Midlands.

This full-time role requires ASAP start until March, with potential extension, working weekends at a pay rate of £350-£425/day.

**Key responsibilities:**

  • Provide clinical leadership and coordinate high-quality ophthalmic care
  • Perform ophthalmic assessments (visual acuity, slit lamp, IOP, OCT, retinal imaging)
  • Assist with procedures like injections, laser treatments, and minor surgeries
  • Support staff supervision, patient safety, and service delivery standards
  • Act as a senior decision-maker within ophthalmology services
