Job Description
We seek an experienced RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with leadership skills to join our independent small animal hospital in Wiltshire as a Lead Late Ward Nurse.
Lead inpatient care during afternoons and evenings, ensuring smooth ward operations, supporting discharge processes, and preparing for out-of-hours transfer. Coordinate workload, supervise nursing staff, and provide hands-on clinical care, including treatments and monitoring. Maintain high standards through effective delegation, accurate documentation, and thorough patient preparation for handover. Work 40 hours/week, 12:00pm-8:30pm, with weekend shifts on a 1-in-7 rotation, no out-of-hours work required. Ideal candidates possess strong clinical knowledge, organizational skills, confidence in decision-making, and excellent communication.
