Key responsibilities include performing history and physical exams, assisting with physician-directed care, managing orders, reviewing labs and imaging, monitoring patient progress, and coordinating discharge planning. The role requires excellent communication, confidentiality, and adherence to policies.
Qualifications include a Master’s or Post Master’s degree, pediatric acute care experience (1-2 years), relevant certifications (FNP-BC, CPNP-AC, PA-C), and licensure in Texas. BLS, PALS, ACLS are mandatory, with bilingual skills preferred. The APP functions independently under supervision, supporting clinical teams and patient families while participating in research and service conferences.
