Job Description
The Licensed Addictions Counselor provides individual and group chemical dependency services in a therapeutic community setting.
Evaluates clients and families to determine appropriate treatment levels and develops personalized plans. Conducts counseling sessions, group programs, and educational classes related to addiction and self-esteem. Makes referrals for aftercare and maintains detailed documentation of progress and treatment plans. Participates in staff meetings, supervises sessions, and applies evidence-based practices such as CBT and motivational interviewing. Completes required training annually and adheres to facility procedures and standards. Works effectively under pressure, motivates residents, and stays receptive to supervision and new ideas. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science with relevant experience or equivalent, Montana licensure, and experience with adult offenders preferred.
