Job Description

The Licensed Addictions Counselor provides individual and group chemical dependency services in a therapeutic community setting.

  • Evaluates clients and families to determine appropriate treatment levels and develops personalized plans.
  • Conducts counseling sessions, group programs, and educational classes related to addiction and self-esteem.
  • Makes referrals for aftercare and maintains detailed documentation of progress and treatment plans.
  • Participates in staff meetings, supervises sessions, and applies evidence-based practices such as CBT and motivational interviewing.
  • Completes required training annually and adheres to facility procedures and standards.
  • Works effectively under pressure, motivates residents, and stays receptive to supervision and new ideas.
  • Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science with relevant experience or equivalent, Montana licensure, and experience with adult offenders preferred.
