The Licensed Mental Health Professional will join an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team to provide comprehensive care for street homeless or subway-dwelling individuals in the community.
The multi-disciplinary team includes a Team leader, Licensed Clinicians, Care Managers, and Peer Specialists, using the evidence-based Critical Time Intervention model.
The role involves street outreach, coordinating needs pre- and post-housing, enhancing daily living skills, offering supportive counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare disparities.
Focus is on member choice, harm reduction, non-coercion, flexibility, and person-centered care.
Post-housing, the team supports participants for months to ensure stability and independence.
Position requires fieldwork, periodic on-call hours, and flexible scheduling, with travel across three counties.
Ideal candidates hold a master’s or higher in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology, with MSW candidates working towards licensure.
