Job Description
The Licensed Mental Health Professional will join an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive care to street homeless or subway-dwelling individuals in the community.
Work involves community outreach, assisting participants pre- and post-housing, enhancing daily living skills, offering supportive counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare inequities.
The team employs a person-centered, harm reduction, non-coercive approach, following participants for months after housing to ensure stability and independence.
This field-based role requires flexible hours, periodic on-call coverage, and travel across Chenango, Broome, and Otsego counties.
Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology; MSW candidates with licensure plans are considered.
