Job Description

The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive care to street homeless or subway-dwelling individuals in the community.

  • Work involves community outreach, supporting participants during and after housing placement, enhancing daily living skills, offering supportive counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare inequities.
  • The team follows a person-centered, harm reduction approach, utilizing the Critical Time Intervention model to promote stability, independence, and wellbeing.
  • This field-based role requires flexible hours, periodic on-call coverage, and travel throughout three counties.

  • Minimum qualifications include a licensed master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology; MSW candidates with licensure plans are also considered.
  • Full-time position with competitive pay and benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and flexible scheduling. Relocation to Norwich, NY, is required before starting.
