Job Description
The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive care to street homeless or subway-dwelling individuals in the community.
Work involves community outreach, supporting participants during and after housing placement, enhancing daily living skills, offering supportive counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare inequities. The team follows a person-centered, harm reduction approach, utilizing the Critical Time Intervention model to promote stability, independence, and wellbeing. This field-based role requires flexible hours, periodic on-call coverage, and travel throughout three counties.
Minimum qualifications include a licensed master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology; MSW candidates with licensure plans are also considered. Full-time position with competitive pay and benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and flexible scheduling. Relocation to Norwich, NY, is required before starting.
