The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive care to homeless individuals living on the streets or subways.
Work involves community outreach, street-based engagement, coordinating needs during housing transitions, and supporting daily living skills. Provide supportive counseling, advocate against discrimination and healthcare disparities, and promote person-centered, harm reduction approaches. Follow participants post-housing to ensure stability and independence, with fieldwork, on-call duties, and flexible hours required. Requires a master’s degree or higher in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology, with licensure or plan to obtain it.
