Job Description

The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive care to homeless individuals on the streets or subways.

The multidisciplinary team includes a leader, clinicians, care managers, and peer specialists, utilizing the evidence-based Critical Time Intervention model.

Responsibilities involve street outreach, coordinating needs before and after housing, improving daily living skills, offering supportive counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare inequities.

Following housing placement, the team supports participants for months to ensure stability and independence.

This field-based role requires flexible hours, periodic on-call work, and travel across the service counties. Candidates must have a master’s degree or higher in social work, mental health, nursing, or psychology, with licensure or plans to obtain it.
