The Licensed Mental Health Professional will join an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team to provide comprehensive care to street homeless and subway-dwelling individuals in the community.
Work involves community outreach, coordinating needs pre- and post-housing, enhancing daily living skills, offering supportive counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare disparities. The team follows a person-centered, harm reduction, non-coercive approach, using the Critical Time Intervention model. Post-housing, the team supports participants for several months to ensure stability and independence. This field-based role requires periodic on-call coverage, flexible hours, and travel across Chenango, Broome, and Otsego counties. Qualifications include a master’s degree or higher in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology; MSW candidates working toward licensure are considered. Full-time position with benefits, offering $32-$34/hour, based in Norwich, NY, with required relocation before start.
