The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive care to homeless individuals living on the streets or subways.
The multi-disciplinary team includes a Team leader, Licensed Clinicians, Care Managers, and Peer Specialists, using the evidence-based Critical Time Intervention model. The role involves community outreach, coordinating needs before and after housing, enhancing daily living skills, offering supportive counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare inequities. Focus is on member choice, harm reduction, non-coercion, flexibility, and person-centered care. The team supports participants for months post-housing to ensure stability and independence. This field-based position requires flexible hours, periodic on-call work, and travel across three counties. Qualifications include a licensed master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology; MSW candidates with relevant experience are considered. Compensation ranges from $32-$34/hour with full benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Relocation to Norwich, NY, is required before starting.
