Job Description
The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team dedicated to providing comprehensive care to street homeless or subway-dwelling individuals in the community.
Work involves street outreach, coordinating needs pre- and post-housing, supporting daily living skills, offering counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare inequities. The team uses a person-centered, harm reduction, non-coercive approach, following the Critical Time Intervention model. Post-housing, the team supports participants for several months to ensure stability and independence. This field-based role requires flexible hours, periodic on-call work, and travel across three counties. Minimum qualifications include a licensed master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology; MSW candidates with plans for licensure are also considered.
