Job Description

The Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider (NNP or PA) plays a leadership role in neonatal resuscitation, care planning, and management within a 24/7 NICU.


  • Provides direct clinical care, including newborn assessment, stabilization, resuscitation, and NICU admission, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.

  • Performs procedures such as intubation, line placements, and ventilator management.

  • Participates in quality improvement, education, transport support, and departmental committees.

  • Educates families and mentors staff, ensuring compliance with certification and licensing requirements.

  • Works rotating day and night shifts with no formal on-call duties, supporting a collaborative team culture.

  • Requires minimum two years of neonatal ICU experience, appropriate licensure/certifications, and proficiency with EMR systems.

  • Overall, the role emphasizes clinical excellence, team collaboration, family-centered care, and continuous professional development within a supportive, high-quality NICU environment.
