Nephrologists – ANY STATE LICENSE ACCEPTED

Job Description

We are seeking a Board-Certified Nephrologist to provide on-site care for Veterans at a VA Medical Center. The role includes a weekly outpatient clinic and on-call coverage as needed.

Key responsibilities include delivering comprehensive nephrology consults in inpatient and outpatient settings, managing conditions such as AKI, CKD, ESKD, fluid/electrolyte disorders, hypertension, nephrolithiasis, and kidney transplant patients. The provider will oversee kidney replacement therapies and perform bedside consults. All care must be documented in the electronic health record and align with VA standards. Participation in quality and safety processes is required.

On-call expectations involve being reachable within 15 minutes and able to arrive onsite within 60 minutes, with coverage scheduled evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications include MD/DO with accredited training, Board Certification or Eligibility in Nephrology, an active unrestricted medical license, BLS or ACLS certification, and proficiency in English. Credentialing and privileging must be completed prior to start.
