Job Description

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive primary care in a community health center setting under the supervision of the Medical Director.
They perform health assessments, manage acute and chronic conditions, and promote overall health for diverse patient populations, including children and adults.
The role involves collaborating with healthcare team members, developing protocols, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualified candidates must hold current NP certification, Iowa licensure, and board certification in primary care, with preferred experience working with underserved populations and bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
Essential responsibilities include patient evaluation, health education, minor procedures, emergency care, documentation, and after-hours call coverage.
The physical demands include mobility, lifting patients, and visual/hearing abilities, with a work environment that is generally quiet but may involve exposure to health hazards.
