The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive primary care services in a community health setting, collaborating with the healthcare team to manage patients across all ages.
Requires current NP certification, Iowa licensure, and at least two years of experience with underserved populations. Must demonstrate clinical judgment, cultural sensitivity, and preferably bilingual skills (English/Spanish). Responsibilities include conducting health assessments, managing acute and chronic conditions, performing minor procedures, and providing health education. Supervises staff, coordinates referrals, and participates in protocol development, continuing education, and quality improvement activities. Must be physically capable of performing essential tasks, including patient transfers, with a work environment that involves minimal to moderate noise and exposure to health hazards. Physical and mental stamina are essential to fulfill the role effectively.
