Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our surgical team in Texarkana, TX. The role involves working closely with surgeons to provide perioperative care, primarily assisting in the OR and performing vein harvesting.

  • Serve as first assist in procedures such as CABG and valve surgeries.

  • Perform endoscopic or open vein harvesting.

  • Manage pre- and post-operative patient care, conduct assessments, and develop treatment plans.

  • Round on ICU and floor patients post-surgery.

  • Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery, and discharge plans.

  • Accurately document care in EMR and participate in scheduled call coverage.

    • Qualifications include current Texas PA license, NCCPA certification, 2+ years in cardiothoracic surgery with proficiency in first assist and vein harvesting, BLS and ACLS, and strong clinical and teamwork skills.
