Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate *Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)* to provide mental health care in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities in San Diego, CA.

  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Diagnose and manage conditions such as depression, anxiety, and dementia-related behaviors.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, ensuring therapeutic response and safety.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality care and coordinate referrals for therapy and support services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Educate staff and caregivers on behavioral health best practices and crisis prevention.
  • Work independently within a team, demonstrating strong decision-making and communication skills.

    • Qualifications include a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing, valid PMHNP certification, and licensure. Prior geriatric psychiatry or long-term care experience is preferred. This full-time, part-time, or contract role offers pay from $85/hour, with 20-40 hours weekly. Candidates must be able to work on-site and relocate to San Diego, CA before starting.
