Job Description

Seeking psychiatrists for employment in El Paso, Texas, in a detention environment requiring a broad clinical background.

Core duties include evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, urgent and emergency mental health care, case management, and gender-specific care, including transgender and prenatal mental health.

Requirements:

MD/DO degree from an accredited U.S. or equivalent foreign institution with ECFMG certification

Board eligibility in psychiatry with at least one year of practice experience

Unrestricted medical license in Texas and BLS certification

Strong communication, cultural competency, and adaptability skills

Proficiency in English; Spanish preferred

Responsibilities involve direct patient care, telepsychiatry, medication management, psychotherapy, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. The role includes emergency response, documentation, quality improvement, and adherence to policies and regulations.

This full-time position requires on-call rotation and 24/7 facility coverage, with physical demands including long periods of standing and lifting. Citizenship verification is required.
