Seeking Psychiatrists for employment in El Paso, Texas, in a detention environment requiring a broad clinical skill set.
Responsibilities include evaluation, diagnosis, treatment of psychiatric and mental health needs, urgent care, case management, and gender-specific care, including transgender and pregnancy-related services.
Requirements: MD or DO from an accredited U.S. or equivalent foreign medical school, completion of psychiatry training, one year of psychiatric practice, and an active, unrestricted medical license in Texas. Board eligibility and BLS certification are required.
Candidates should possess strong communication, cultural competency, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English (and Spanish preferred). Expertise in diagnostic modalities, telepsychiatry, medication management, and electronic health records is essential.
Major duties involve direct patient care, telepsychiatry, emergency response, documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Position requires rotational on-call coverage, with work in a 24/7 facility. Physical exertion may be necessary.
