Psychiatrist – Corrections

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated part-time Psychiatrist to join our correctional healthcare team, working 4 hours weekly on-site at two facilities in Bay Minette, AL. This role involves providing comprehensive mental health evaluations, treatment plans, follow-up care, and emergency support, with mandatory phone consultations as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and develop treatment strategies
• Coordinate discharge planning and ongoing care
• Support staff through education, training, and emergency preparedness
• Ensure compliance with standards and collaborate with healthcare professionals
• Maintain clear communication with clients and team members

Requirements:

• Valid Alabama medical license in Psychiatry (M.D. or D.O.)
• Board certification or eligible, with 3-5 years of experience
• Current DEA registration
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Proficiency with relevant technologies and commitment to quality care
