Psychiatrist – Corrections

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated part-time Psychiatrist to join our correctional healthcare team, working 4 hours per week on-site at two facilities in Bay Minette, AL, with mandatory phone consultations as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans across various settings
• Lead follow-up care, discharge planning, and ensure continuity of care
• Provide telehealth consultations and mental health support
• Collaborate on care coordination and support staff training
• Maintain compliance with standards and regulations
• Coordinate with healthcare leaders and train staff on mental health systems

Requirements:

• Valid Alabama medical license in Psychiatry (M.D. or D.O.)
• Board certification or eligibility, with 3-5 years of experience
• Current DEA registration
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, proficiency with relevant technologies
• Commitment to quality care and patient safety

Salary ranges from $150.00 to $200.00 per hour, with benefits including employee assistance and professional development programs.
