Job Description
The Recreation Therapist plans, organizes, and supervises recreational activities to promote healthy leisure, socialization, and skill development for youth.
Develops programs like arts, drama, sports, and community trips tailored to treatment plans.
Provides positive role modeling, documents progress, and participates in treatment team meetings.
Supervises facilities ensuring safety, performs maintenance, and assists with special events.
Supervises activities for up to three youth and completes reports.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in related fields, minimum one year of youth recreation experience, and certifications such as CPR and possibly Lifeguard.
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
