Job Description

The Recreation Therapist plans, organizes, and supervises recreational activities to promote healthy leisure, socialization, and skill development for youth on a designated campus or program.

Develops and implements diverse programs including arts, sports, and community trips aligned with treatment plans.

Supervises recreation facilities ensuring safety and maintenance, and assists in event planning.

Documents progress, participates in treatment team meetings, and provides feedback on service plans.

Supervises activities for up to three youth, completes reports, and performs basic repair and safety checks.

Qualifications include a relevant bachelor’s degree, youth recreation experience, and certifications like CPR; a master’s may be required for certain programs.

Skills needed include effective communication, relationship building, conflict resolution, and behavior management.
