Job Description
The Recreation Therapist plans, organizes, and supervises recreational activities to promote healthy lifestyles, social skills, and growth for youth in a human services setting.
Develops and delivers diverse programs including arts, sports, and community outings tailored to individual treatment plans. Supervises recreation facilities ensuring safety and performs maintenance as needed. Documents progress, participates in treatment team meetings, and provides positive role modeling. Supervises activities for up to three youth, completes reports, and assists with special events. Requires a bachelor’s degree in related fields, youth recreation experience, and certifications such as CPR and possibly lifeguard training. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. This full-time role offers benefits and requires working in Auburn, NY, with relocation prior to starting.
