RN- Charge Nurse

Job Description

The Charge Nurse oversees daily clinical operations in the surgery unit to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

Provide clinical leadership, support nursing staff, and coordinate patient flow.

Assign care responsibilities based on acuity and staffing needs.

Support staff training, facilitate communication among teams, and manage unit concerns.

Coordinate pre-operative activities, ensuring patient readiness and documentation.

Supervise PACU nurses, monitor patient recovery, and manage postoperative transitions.

Promote safety, compliance, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications include RN licensure, 3–5 years perioperative or critical care experience, with preferred BSN and supervisory background. Skills needed are clinical judgment, communication, organization, and proficiency in EHR systems.
