Job Description
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) assesses, diagnoses, and treats communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in skilled nursing residents.
Conducts evaluations and develops individualized treatment plans based on assessments and physician directives. Provides direct therapy for communication, cognitive functions, and safe swallowing techniques. Performs swallow assessments and recommends diet modifications. Documents all clinical activities per regulations and educates residents, families, and staff on therapy goals and strategies. Participates in interdisciplinary care planning, monitors progress, and adjusts treatment plans accordingly. Supervises Clinical Fellows or Assistants if applicable, maintaining compliance with standards. Qualifications: Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, current state license, CCC-SLP or CFY, preferably with SNF/geriatric experience, strong clinical and communication skills.
Work Environment: Skilled Nursing Facility, collaborative team-focused setting involving complex medical care.
Job Type: Contract, with a weekly pay of $2,000–$2,300, in person.
