Job Description

– Conduct independent evaluations to assess students with speech or language disorders and determine eligibility for services.

  • Evaluate student progress and readiness for therapy termination.
  • Plan and deliver individual and group therapy aligned with IEP goals.
  • Participate in IEP meetings to interpret assessment data and assist with placement decisions.
  • Set communication goals based on district procedures.
  • Collaborate with teachers to enhance students’ communication skills through classroom activities.
  • Provide professional development to school staff on communication deficits.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents about therapy progress.
  • Develop ongoing evaluation methods for speech-language services and adjust as needed.
  • Assist in selecting equipment and instructional materials.
  • Maintain accurate reports, records, and documentation, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Adhere to federal, state, and district policies.
  • Require a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech-language disorders and ability to use accepted assessment tools.
  • Work is in person, with a day shift, and compensation ranges from $2,000 to $2,064 weekly.
  • Applicants must hold an active TX state license and have at least 2 years of SLP experience.
