Job Description

The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and treats communication disorders in clients from birth to age 18, addressing language, articulation, voice, pragmatics, fluency, and executive functioning. Depending on interest and experience, they may also assess and treat feeding and swallowing issues.

Essential functions include developing and implementing personalized treatment plans, creating functional goals, documenting evaluations and treatments, and supporting families to reinforce therapy practices.

Requirements involve a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, passing the Praxis exam, completing a Clinical Fellowship Year, and licensure or eligibility in Illinois.

Key skills include a passion for working with neurodiverse children, proficiency with computer applications and Central Reach, strong communication, teamwork, creativity, attention to detail, accountability, and problem-solving.

The role may involve de-escalation training, lifting up to 30 lbs, and active therapy positions. Some regional travel is required. This part-time position offers benefits such as PTO, sick leave, EAP, and 401(k) eligibility based on hours worked.
