Job Description

The Language, Speech and Hearing Specialist identifies, evaluates, and remediates pupils with oral, language, voice, fluency, and auditory disorders under supervision.

  • Requires a valid California teaching credential in language, speech, and hearing handicapped.
  • Experience in meeting the needs of students with speech and hearing challenges through teaching or related work.
  • Maintains personal transportation for serving multiple schools.

Key duties include screening and evaluating students, developing intervention programs, collaborating with staff, communicating with parents, and maintaining records. The role involves supervising paraprofessionals and participating in meetings and training.

Full-time schedule during school days plus required non-teaching days, with salary based on experience and training. A bachelor’s degree and appropriate certification are required. The position is in-person and follows a standard Monday–Friday schedule.
