Job Description
The Substance Abuse Counselor (LCAS, LCAS-A, CCS) provides confidential addiction counseling, education, and support to individuals, families, and the community to promote healthy lifestyles and substance-free living.
Essential duties include conducting clinical assessments, identifying treatment needs, assisting with treatment goals, and providing individual, family, and group counseling on addiction issues. The counselor offers educational programs, helps clients access resources like employment and education, and maintains accurate records while adhering to confidentiality and relevant policies.
They collaborate with community agencies, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with standards. The role involves working in person, with benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. A minimum of one year of SUD experience is preferred, and certification/licenses are required.
