Long Term Locum (Associate Dentist)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, confident dentist for a Long-Term Locum role focused on urgent care in Southampton. This position involves working in a busy NHS urgent care centre, providing emergency stabilisation and pain relief rather than routine treatments.

Typical day sees 35–45 patients from NHS 111 referrals, walk-ins, and stabilisation cases.

Fast-paced environment requiring quick clinical decisions and efficient work without compromising quality.

Performance is rewarded via UDA targets with overachievement pay and no penalties for underperformance.

Applicants must be GDC registered, hold an NHS performer number, and have experience in general dentistry; urgent care experience is desirable.

Strong communication skills and adaptability are essential.

Details: Immediate start, flexible shifts (Mon, Wed, Fri 8:00–17:00; Sat 8:00–14:00; Sun 9:00–14:00), location in Woolston, Southampton. Competitive day rate and negotiable travel expenses.
