Job Description
The Wound Care Provider (MD/DO) reports to the CMO and supervises nurses and medical assistants, collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Job Summary: Provides specialized wound care in home, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. Responsibilities include assessments, care plan development, patient/caregiver education, and interdisciplinary collaboration to promote healing.
Qualifications: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (NP), current licensure as MD/DO, Wound Care Certification within 6 months, minimum 2 years of relevant experience, and active patient contact preferred.
Physical & Mental Requirements: Demands physical effort, mobility, and sensory acuity; requires independent judgment, adaptability, emotional stability, and ability to handle stress.
Working Conditions: Field-based travel to various care settings, exposure to biohazardous materials, and adherence to safety protocols. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Essential Functions: Conduct wound assessments, perform treatments, supervise staff, document patient interactions, coordinate care, and ensure compliance with policies and infection control. Strong assessment skills, communication, and adaptability are essential.
