Job Description

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) assesses, diagnoses, and treats communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders in residents of a skilled nursing facility.

  • Conducts comprehensive evaluations and develops individualized treatment plans.
  • Provides direct therapy for communication, cognition, and safe swallowing.
  • Performs swallow assessments and recommends diet modifications.
  • Documents all clinical activities per regulations.
  • Educates residents, families, and staff on therapy strategies.
  • Participates in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Adjusts treatment plans based on resident progress.
  • Supervises CFYs/SLPAs if applicable.


  • Qualifications include: Master’s degree, current state license, CCC-SLP or CFY status, with preferred experience in geriatric settings.

    Work environment: Skilled nursing facility with a collaborative team, involving standing and assisting residents.

    Position type: Contract, paying $2,000-$2,300 weekly, in person.
