The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is a licensed professional providing services to individuals of all ages with cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders. Responsibilities include screening, assessment, diagnosis, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapy in outpatient, inpatient, swing bed, and home settings. The SLP collaborates with patients, families, medical providers, and team members to ensure quality care.
Key duties:
- Providing speech-language services across various settings and patient ages
- Conducting evaluations promptly and developing individualized treatment plans
- Collaborating with healthcare providers and updating treatment accordingly
- Addressing speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing functions
- Documenting progress, instructing patients and families, and participating in community education
